Dengue Prevention in Action !

In April and June 2025, TIDREC, Universiti Malaya partnered with three Chinese primary schools in Perak to bring the "Ceramah Cegah Wabak Denggi: Dengue Prevention Talks" to young students ! Our mission is to empower students with knowledge and hands-on skills to fight dengue — starting from their schools, homes, and communities.

SJK(C) Khai Meng, Sungkai – 19 June 2025

Programme Highlights:

Learn to identify Aedes, Culex, and Anopheles mosquitoes
Discover how dengue spreads and how to prevent it
Fun quizzes & interactive games
Hands-on larva-catching experience
Learn to differentiate male and female mosquitoes

Why We Do This

Build awareness of mosquito-borne diseases
Encourage real-life mosquito control practices
Inspire students to spread dengue prevention messages at home
Promote the mindset: Prevention is better than cure!

Special thanks to the school boards, PTAs, and parents for their amazing support and active participation! Together, we’re building stronger, healthier communities. This meaningful programme also strengthened collaboration between the university and schools, bringing research and knowledge directly to the community.
