Strengthening Collaboration in One Health and Infectious Disease Research

TIDREC, Universiti Malaya, was pleased to host a visit from Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, UMK, led by Dr. Erkihun, Director of the Zoonosis, One Health and Tropical Research Centre (ZOTRAD), together with Dr. Sabri, Deputy Dean for Research and Student Affairs, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Farhan, former Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine.

The visit provided an excellent opportunity to strengthen the existing collaboration between FPV UMK and TIDREC, particularly in the areas of infectious diseases, zoonoses and One Health research.

Discussions focused on benchmarking and sharing experiences in research centre management and development, as well as exploring broader opportunities for collaboration in research, capacity building, training and other areas of mutual interest.

TIDREC looks forward to building on this engagement and fostering stronger institutional partnerships with UMK towards advancing One Health, infectious disease research and health security in Malaysia and the region.
