Bacterial Identification (16S rRNA Sequencing)
16S rRNA gene sequencing is used to identify unknown bacterial species. 16S rRNA sequencing is particularly important and useful in the case of unusual bacterial phenotypic profiles, rarely isolated and slow-growing bacteria, and noncultured bacteria. 16S rRNA sequencing may also lead to the discovery of novel pathogens.

Biosafety & Biosecurity BSL-2 & BSL-3 Training & Consultation
Biosafety and biosecurity training is important in providing essential knowledge and practical skills in handling emergency responses and assessing and managing bio-risks especially when performing laboratory activities. TIDREC's biosafety and biosecurity training program emphasizes on hands-on, practical and behavioral-based learning to ensure continuous adherence to biosafety principles and practices. The training program covers topics on biosafety and biosecurity principles and tenets, efficient and safe use of equipment in handling infectious pathogens, assessment and management of biohazard materials and laboratory risks, as well as hands-on experience on emergency responses, and laboratory biological spills.

Antiviral and Antibacterial Testing
TIDREC offers services to test a compound of interest or chemical products against viruses such as dengue, chikungunya, and Japanese encephalitis, as well as against various bacteria species. The test is performed according to the standard method BS EN 14476:2013+A2:2019 and ASTM E2315-16.
